A pharmacist with Rite Aid, Sureshkumar Dakshinamoorthy fills prescriptions and counsels patients on the proper use of medications. Outside this work, Sureshkumar Dakshinamoorthy has volunteered with community organizations including The Salvation Army.
In addition to providing diverse health and emergency services worldwide, The Salvation Army operates various programs to help children in need in the United States. Specifically, The Salvation Army supports educational opportunities in low-income neighborhoods by offering homework assistance and counseling. By fourth grade, many low-income students are up to two years behind their expected grade level, and one-on-one tutoring can help them catch up in literacy and study skills.
Additionally, the Salvation Army offers a range of after-school extracurricular options, from dance and music to low-cost sports programs, all designed to enrich children’s lives and help them cultivate their talents. For parents, the organization offers coaching sessions to equip them with tools and strategies to help their children develop healthy learning habits.
